Described as “Rich, Flavorful and a little Spicy”, Lorraine and Craig Curry have been entertaining in the valleys for over 20 years. The Colorado Currys have played their blend of folk, swing, rock, bluegrass and Irish tunes with colorful harmonies at local stages, restaurants, Farmers’ Markets, picnics and fish fries. Multi-instrumentalists, Craig performs on Mandolin, Dobro and Guitar, Lorraine on bass and ‘cello. Long time friend Marc Bruell weaves in tasty fiddle lines and electric guitar solos. Audiences aged 8-80 have enjoyed the eclectic variety of music that the Colorado Currys have shared.

Her mastery of styles and broad vocal range make her voice at once indescribable and unforgettable as she switches from elegant jazz to soulful R&B in a heartbeat. Long time radio personality Steve Cole is a master on the sax and clarinet, and a veritable fountain of ideas on the keys. His remarkably rich singing voice draws comparisons to ‘Louis Armstrong’ and ‘Tom Waits’.

The trio is made up of longtime friends and Colorado musical accomplices that draw from their diverse backgrounds in various styles of music to develop an exciting, fresh sound. From a modern Afro-Cuban Danzon composition to a well-loved jazz standard played their way, the group features a diverse and fresh library of music.

Chris Bank has performed in the Aspen area for over 20 years. He has taught band in the Roaring Fork Valley schools and is the director of school programs for JAS Aspen. Mark Johnson is a graduate of Berklee College of Music. He has accompanied numerous internationally known recording artists and released three recordings of his own. Josefina Méndez is from Buenos Aires, Argentina, where she started studying music at age 15, acquiring valuable jazz vocal techniques along the way. She blends north and south American styles of jazz, from swing to bossa nova. Together, this formidable collaboration finds playful and inventive approaches to many classic tunes.

Cajun Two Steps and Waltzes are the order of the day, while they throw in a variety of Louisiana styles, including Blues, Creole and Zydeco, resulting in a simply irresistible gumbo of dance music. Members are Lou Farlow (Fiddle), Mark Gray (Accordion), Craig Curry (Dobro), Amanda Bailey (Guitar), Lorraine Curry (Bass), and Rob Labig (Percussion). They also write and perform much of their our own music. The vocal instrumentalists are Shannon Meyer (violin), Brett Nelson (bass), Kayo Ogilby (banjo), Mark Sumera (guitar) and Ted Frisbie (mandolin).
