In 2012, the DDA created and submitted plans for a 930-square- foot pocket park, sculpture and landscaping improvements for the location adjoining the public parking lot on Seventh Street and Colorado Avenue, and the northwest corner of the lot nearest the sidewalk at Seventh Street and Colorado Avenue. Garfield County agreed to partneri with the DDA to manage, bid and fund the project at this site owned by Garfield County.

The plans for the pocket park were designed entirely through volunteer hours. The park includes a planter that doubles as a parking lot screen wall and a bench for seating, three tables, decorative rose and buff-colored concrete, and landscaping with boulders, flowers, shrubs and trees. The pocket park has wireless internet access, a bear-proof trash container, and low-impact lighting. It features original works of outdoor art.
